Bardstown/Nelson Co. Tourism Announces Creation of “Bardstown Collection” Scholarships for Local Students Pursuing Tourism and Distilled Spirits Education
BARDSTOWN, KY — Dec. 19th, 2023
Bardstown/Nelson Co. Tourism is thrilled to announce the donation of three scholarships at prominent educational institutions — Midway University, University of Louisville, and University of Kentucky James B. Beam Distilling program. These scholarships are aimed at supporting Nelson County students who aspire to pursue majors in tourism, distilled spirits, hospitality, and related fields.
Made possible through the collective efforts of the 2023 Bardstown Collection bottles, this initiative represents a unified partnership between renowned distilleries: Bardstown Bourbon Company, Heaven Hill Distillery, James B. Beam Distilling, Log Still Distillery, Lux Row Distillers, and Preservation Distillery + Farms. The scholarships signify a shared commitment to investing in the education and future of Nelson County residents.
The Bardstown Collection bottles, offered by the collaborative spirit of the region’s leading distilleries, have not only delighted spirits enthusiasts but have also served as a catalyst for positive change in the community. A portion of the sales from these 2023 bottles has been allocated to fund these scholarships, emphasizing the community’s dedication to fostering education and empowering the next generation of hospitality and distilled spirits professionals.
The scholarships are specifically designed to support local talent and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence in fields vital to the region’s heritage and economy. By investing in the education of Nelson County students, Bardstown/Nelson Co. Tourism and its partners aim to ensure that the legacy of hospitality and distilling remains strong, contributing to the continued success and greatness of Bardstown.
“We are delighted to announce these scholarships as a testament to our commitment to the community and the belief in the potential of our local youth,” said Jeff Crowe, Bardstown Tourism Chairman of the Board for Bardstown/Nelson Co. Tourism. “Through the generosity of our esteemed partners and the success of the Bardstown Collection bottles, we are proud to support higher education opportunities and inspire the next generation to contribute to the rich tapestry of hospitality and distilling in Bardstown.”
This collaborative effort underscores the collective responsibility of Bardstown’s distilling community to invest in the well-being and future prosperity of Nelson County. The scholarships will be awarded based on merit, enabling deserving students to access the education and resources necessary to thrive in the fields of tourism, distilled spirits, and hospitality.
