Bardstown/Nelson County Tourism Awards Record $135,000 in Grants to Bolster Local Tourism and Economic Growth
Bardstown, Kentucky – August 7, 2024 – Bardstown/Nelson County Tourism is thrilled to announce the recipients of $135,000 in grants awarded this year, to 13 different non-profits, marking our largest grant distribution to date. These funds are dedicated to marketing our vibrant community and enhancing tourism, which in turn strengthens our local economy.
This year’s grant recipients include a diverse array of local businesses, attractions, and events that exemplify the rich cultural heritage and unique charm of Bardstown. The awarded funds will support initiatives designed to draw visitors from across the country and beyond, showcasing Bardstown as a premier travel destination.
“Our commitment to promoting Bardstown as a must-visit location is reflected in these grants,” said Stacey Phelps, President of Bardstown/Nelson County Tourism. “By investing in our community, we not only enhance the visitor experience but also drive economic growth, creating jobs and supporting local businesses.”
The grant recipients will use these funds for various marketing and promotional efforts, including digital advertising, social media campaigns, event sponsorships, and more. These initiatives aim to highlight Bardstown’s unique offerings, such as our world-renowned bourbon distilleries, historic landmarks, and vibrant cultural events.

- Stephen Foster Story
- Cheers to Bardstown
- Kentucky Railway Museum
- Bardstown for the Arts
